Account information: your email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash), or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
Usage data: books you read, chapters you unlock, reading progress, and library activity, so we can power your library, recommendations, and reading streaks.
Payment data: when you purchase Coins, payment is handled entirely by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card details — we only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed and the number of Coins to credit.
Device/technical data: basic technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security and abuse prevention.
2. How we use your information
To provide and maintain the Service (your library, unlocked chapters, coin balance).
To send account-related emails (password resets, email verification) via our email provider, Resend.
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
To improve the Service based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with service providers who help us run Lux Novel, including:
Paddle.com — payment processing and billing (receives your email and purchase details as Merchant of Record).
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
5. Your rights

6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, restricted database access) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data appropriately.
7. Children's privacy
Lux Novel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
